July 11th: Zion Lion

Zion Lion is the "baddest band to hit the Kalamazoo music scene”. The members are a combination of several bands from the Kalamazoo area that crossed each others path along the way and decided to form what we believe to be the right mix of reggae. African zouk, mucosa, zoukous and some Afro-latin influences. These musicians have played in small clubs to large cultural festivals including, the Kalamazoo Island Festival, Kalamazoo Black arts festival, Grand Rapids Caribbean Festival, Muskegon Summer Festival, Louisville Reggae Festival and Rock Island Caribbean Festival to name a few. You can't help but get up and dance and have an "IRIE FEELIN' " whenever you hear Zion Lion. Learn more at https://www.welcometospotlight.com/

July 25th: Bernadette Kathryn

AND THE LONELY DAYS BAND

From the city that keeps America driving, Bernadette Kathryn is a fresh and exciting addition to Detroit’s storied history of musical talent. While Bernadette is immersed in the world of contemporary young country, she draws on the Motor City’s long tradition of great music, from Motown to rock & roll. In a cookie-cutter world of sound-alike singers, Bernadette Kathryn is truly Detroit’s Country Rebel.

Bernadette Kathryn started playing Nashville honky tonks during CMA Fest when she was 13 years old, but it was her appearance on the Grand Ole Opry Stage when she was only 17 that first drew the attention of industry influencers. At an age when most singers are still fawning over their musical heroes, she nailed her debut at The Opry, and recording contracts and high-profile shows followed. Now, Bernadette Kathryn continues to dazzle audiences from Nashville to the Midwest with her one-of-a-kind crowd-friendly, engaging approach to modern country that keeps audiences clamoring for more. The dynamic pairing of Matt Plessner and Rachel White provides the soulful front for the band, delivering performances that captivate and resonate. Their complementing tones and styles are underlined by the impeccable musicianship of Mark Jilbert and Scott Garrison, who form the band's robust backbone. Learn more at lightingmatchesmusic.com
