winter

November hosts no tour opportunities, as we spend the entire month transforming the mansion into a Christmas Wonderland!

The first Saturday morning in December brings our annual Winterfest event — a FREE child-focused opportunity to explore the estate, meet Santa & Mrs. Claus, enjoy cocoa and a snack, and view the more than 40 decorated Christmas Trees throughout the mansion!

Holiday tour opportunities abound throughout the month of December, and include select morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend options. From Tea Time to Candlelight Tours, there are so many options to see The Felt Estate in all its Christmas splendor! Be sure to visit our Holiday Events page to see what is happening at The Felt from day to day before planning your visit.

January through March, the Estate buildings are closed for restoration projects, but the grounds are open to enjoy daily! Bundle up and explore the original Dorr Felt trails and paths throughout the Estate and Saugatuck Dunes State Park.

Spring

April opens our spring tour season with self-guided tours available on select afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The estate begins to come alive this time of year, waking from the slumber of a long winter. Whether hiking the trails of Shore Acres or Saugatuck Dunes State Park, or perusing the landscaped beds around the mansion and carriage house, Spring is a beautiful time to plan your visit to The Felt Estate.

May begins our event season, and weekends are typically full of wedding events. If you choose to visit the estate during a private event, please steer clear of the areas the event is using and admire the mansion from a distance. Instead, explore the park, trails, and Lake Michigan beaches.

Summer

Hot summer days at the beach, vacations with the family, visiting the local ice cream stand… there are so many opportunities to take advantage of summertime in West Michigan! This time of year, the mansion is open for self-guided tours during the afternoons on Mon. Tues. and Wed.

Thursday evenings in July bring the ever-popular FREE Summer Concert Series on the Felt Estate Carriage House lawn. Bring your own food and (non-alcoholic) beverages, or purchase from one of our food and drink vendors on site.

Summer weekends are typically full of wedding events. If you choose to visit the estate during a private event, please steer clear of the areas the event is using and admire the mansion from a distance. Instead, explore the park, trails, and Lake Michigan beaches.

Fall

As the leaves begin to change color, our summer tour season winds down with afternoon tour opportunities extending through September. October brings an opportunity to explore some of the mansion’s “spooky” history with Hauntings & History nights at The Estate. No jump-scares, but you might get goosebumps as you navigate stories of the past!

September and October weekends are typically full of wedding events. If you choose to visit the estate during a private event, please steer clear of the areas the event is using and admire the mansion from a distance. Instead, explore the park, trails, and Lake Michigan beaches.
